About Indigenous Health Research Register

Aboriginal communities and research organisations to fundamentally change how research is designed, conducted and used in the Kimberley.

Indigenous Health Research Register (IHRR) has been developed by Kimberley Aboriginal Health Research Alliance (KAHRA) utilising the Kimberley Aboriginal Health Research Alliance (KAHPF) Research Sub-committee research project records.

The more recent KAHRA Operational Plan includes:

Learning and implementing knowledge from past health research in the Kimberley

  • Support the Kimberley Research Collection to understand the current and past health research undertaken in the Kimberley;
  • Inform and work with communities on knowledge gaps to inform future research.

Vision

Aboriginal people in control of Aboriginal research to improve Aboriginal health and wellbeing in the Kimberley.

IHRR aims to publish research project records approved by the KAHPF Research Sub-Committee, underpinned by the KAHRA team’s development of KAHPF Research Sub-committee.

Creating accurate, up-to-date KAHPF Research Sub-committee records.

Project collections were achieved over a period of 9 months in conjunction with the 15 years of Research in the Kimberley project. Records have continued to be maintained as part of the KAHRA team supporting the KAHPF Research Sub-committee.

Feedback from Kimberley research stakeholders indicated that it would be useful for a repository for Kimberley research outputs in conjunction with the planned Kimberley Research Collection.
